In March, Whitney did a free concert in Norfolk, Virginia, on the East coast of the USA to welcome home servicemen and women returning from the Gulf War. The concert was transmitted in April on US TV by HBO. It was a stirring & mesmerizing performance, made especially potent by the atmosphere of wartime thanksgiving in the crowd.
