Where Do Broken Hearts Go
- Released : March 1988
- Tracks: If You Say My Eyes Are Beautiful, Where You Are
- Worldwide sales : 1,200,000
- Peak Position : US No. 1, UK No. 14
- Song Info : At first, Whitney didn't want to record
"Where Do Broken Hearts Go" because she didn't like the song.
But Clive Davis told her it would be a No. 1 song so she
did it. When released as a single in America the following year,
the beautiful ballad went to No. 1.
Thanks to that song, Whitney became the only act ever to have 7 consecutive
No. 1 singles.
Additional Info: "Where Do Broken Hearts Go",
the 4th No. 1 from the album "Whitney",
was written by Frank Wildhorn
and Chuck Jackson. Frank Wildhorn is now a famous composer
of Broadway musicals like "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and
he is married to singer Linda Eder. And yes, Chuck Jackson
is related to Jesse Jackson. The team of Wildhorn as songwriter
and Walden as producer was also responsible for Natalie Cole's song "I Do".
