In 1989, Whitney Houston, at 25 was on top of the world. She retreated to a new multi-million-dollar estate in rural New Jersey. She made $45 million in 1988, but the public kept clamoring for more -another album, an attempt at movies, more live shows. Whitney felt that 'people had enough of (her) for a while at least' so she decided to take a break.
